Holiday Fine Art Show Featuring Over 30 Visual Artists Curated by Busboys and Poets’ Curator, November 29-30

Washington, D.C.  November 11, 2019  – An exhibition featuring 30 master artists with 400+ original works of photography, abstract, oils, mixed media and fabric and are set to be shown at the DC Holiday Fine Art Show on Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10am, Shiloh Family Life Center at 1510 9th Street NW, three blocks north of the Washington Convention Center.

Carol Rhodes Dyson, the Show’s curator is the Arts Curator for the seven locations of Busboys and Poets and former President of Black Artists of DC. When asked about the DC Holiday Fine Art Show, she says, “It will excite visitors with the colorful accents and vibrant energy of the Holiday season exhibiting varied messages from social art to the calming energy of landscapes to the realism of iconic historic figures and international cultural expeditions through photography”.

Local businesswoman and producer of the DC Fine Art Show, Juanita Britton of BZB International, says “I’m excited to partner with Carol and build on Washington’s art collecting tradition with diverse exhibitions displaying culture, color, purpose and intrigue that reflect artists’ surrounding realities.”

Several of the participating artists include:

James Terrell and Zsudayka Nzinga Terrell are a husband and wife team of visual artists living in Washington, DC. They paint afrofuturist abstract portraits. Both artists have been featured in galleries and museums across the country. Ms. Zsudayka Nzinga “is an acrylic artist from Denver, CO. She recently relocated to Washington, DC to pursue her career as an artist. She started out as an oil portrait painter doing photo realism and expressionist portraits before moving into abstract expressionist portraits in acrylic.” facebook.com/ZsudaykaNzingaDesigns/

Julee Dickerson-Thompson is a multi-media artist. Her work ranges from painting & soft sculpture/fiber into public art and illustration. Ms. Dickerson – Thompson is noted for a unique, stylized approach to line drawing that becomes characteristic of her work in all forms of media. – theartofjulee.com

Marvin Bowser is a Washington DC-based photographer who travels extensively capturing life across the African diaspora.  He is fascinated by color and light.  marvinbowser.photography

Mirlande Jean-Gilles, a writer and a visual artist. Her vibrant collages are inspired by her Haitian heritage as well as the work of women and mothers all over the world. In 2012 Mirlande was selected to be “Bearden 100” artist in collaboration with The Romare Bearden Foundation. etsy.com/shop/Mirlande

Nigerian born artist, Buchi Upjohn Aghaji dips his brush into vastly different hues when creating his works. He expresses his art through a variety of media including oil, watercolor and acrylic on cold-pressed paper, canvas, burlap, wood and pottery. The result is a refreshing change from the contemporary trend in Afro-centric painting. Upjohn’s work has received much recognition and acclaim in Nigeria and other parts of the world. upjohnart.com/

The DC Holiday Fine Art show runs November 29th and 30th from 10a-7p at the Shiloh Family Life Center,which is accessible by Metro Mount Vernon Square/Convention Center Station.  This is a free event open to the public.  Admission is a smile!   For more info bzbinternational.com
